Meet the lovely Courtney, a Noonday Collection ambassador and stylist...
-
What is most fulfilling about your work?
I am an ambassador for a fair trade accessories brand called Noonday Collection. I have the really fun job of expanding the marketplace for artisan businesses around the world, and get to do this by partnering with women here in the U.S. through virtual and in person pop-ups. I also have a knack (and love!) for thrifting, and have started incorporating more of the styling aspect of my job by making unique and affordable secondhand finds accessible to others, while sharing how I would wear and accessorize them. I love that I'm able to use my gifts and interests to empower women around the world through fashion and business. At Noonday we do what we do "because her dreams matter as much as mine", and that is something I carry with me through my work.
One style tip...
A light denim jacket can be one of the most versatile pieces in your wardrobe. It transitions well with the changing of seasons, and often helps add shape to a loose fitting dress or jumpsuit. I have a dark denim and light colored denim to wear, depending on the color of my clothing.
A beauty product I love
I love bold lipstick (yes, even during quarantine!) and fell in love with a new Beauty Counter Color - The Fuschia is Clean in Hot Pink. It's the perfect shade of pink and I get compliments whenever I put it on.
What are some of your favorite sustainable or fair trade products or brands?
Oh, so many! My personal favorites are Elegantees, Shop Trove, Liz Alig (of course!), Noonday Collection, Forai (handmade accessories by refugees here in St. Louis where I'm from), Sari Bari, and Driftless Style just to name a few.
